A Patio for the Whole Family

Au Patio Brunch is envisioned as an open-air gathering place where families can enjoy time together at their own pace. The design brings dining, relaxation and children's play into one shared environment, allowing parents to enjoy a casual brunch while their children have space to move, explore and play within view.
At the heart of the project is a lightweight canopy structure in sage green, creating a distinctive architectural identity while providing shade for the outdoor dining area. Surrounded by lush planting and complemented by timber, exposed brick and concrete, the space balances an informal atmosphere with a clear and cohesive design language. Built-in seating and planted edges define the dining areas without creating rigid boundaries.
A dedicated play zone introduces movement and discovery, while its relationship to the surrounding seating remains an important consideration for parental visibility and supervision. Thoughtful zoning, appropriate play surfaces and clear circulation between dining and play help support a more comfortable family experience.
Rather than separating adults' leisure from children's activities, Au Patio Brunch brings both into a shared setting. Parents can enjoy their meal and conversation, while children engage with their surroundings in a space designed around play, exploration and connection.
For 28’Creative, the project explores how hospitality design can go beyond serving a functional purpose to create meaningful everyday experiences. Here, the patio becomes more than an outdoor dining area, it becomes a place where different generations can find their own rhythm while remaining part of the same gathering.
