A retail interior in Ho Chi Minh City turns the act of shopping into a slower, more intimate encounter with objects, materials and memory.
In a city defined by movement, noise and constant visual change, IN SIZE takes a deliberately different position.
Located within the dense urban fabric of Ho Chi Minh City, the store does not attempt to compete with its surroundings through a louder façade or a highly polished retail identity. Instead, it creates a quieter world behind a restrained street elevation—one that feels less like a conventional shop and more like a room discovered inside the city.
The first impression comes from its materiality.
Dark grey plaster, warm timber, aged metal, stone flooring and carefully controlled light establish an atmosphere that feels tactile rather than commercial. The space appears familiar, almost domestic, but at the same time distinctly curated. Antique-inspired mirrors stand alongside contemporary eyewear displays. Traditional timber cabinetry becomes a system for organizing modern products. Paintings, old furniture and small objects occupy the interior almost like fragments of a private collection.
The result is a retail environment that deliberately avoids looking new. Instead of treating the store as a neutral container for merchandise, the design gives the interior its own character—and allows the products to become part of that character.
